Leading Warrnambool program supported with crucial funding
A program which focuses on helping local veterans to reintegrate back into civilian life, while stay active and socially connected within the community, has received a funding boost from the State Government.
Minister for Veterans Shaun Leane recently visited the Warrnambool RSL, announcing more than $46,000 to support the Veteran Support Centre RSL Active Program.
The Warrnambool RSL delivers one of the most popular programs in Victoria, with over 200 veterans and family members participating.
RSL Active Ambassador Adam Kent, says they appreciate the support and are proud to be leading the way with the initiative.
"We are really proud on a whole as a veteran community, and I think the wider community should be just as proud because they've been a huge part of it" he said.
"The local council, local members and a lot of local businesses and organisations have really embraced us, so a lot of veterans have come out of their shell and are putting in strong contributions to the community"
