Warrnambool Racing Club C.E.O Peter Downs says the works going on at the moment are stage two of the water project.

He says works have been going on for 12 months in the centre of the race course, and now the works are out in the surrounding streets, getting storm water flows through to the centre of the race course.

Mr Downs says it will be a great outcome for the race course and also the local community.

If you're traveling in the racecourse area just be aware of some traffic disruption and truck movements.
