Warrnambool's Solstice Searching Event Well Received

Warrnambool's first ever Solstice Searching Event proved to be a hit over the weekend, with hundreds of cars taking to the streets of Warrnambool on Friday and Saturday night.

It was all as part of a scavenger style hunt for eight neon sculptures, which were placed at some of Warrnambool's most iconic locations.

Locals were quick to decipher the clues and snap photos of the flashy sculptures, which included a thunder bolt at Thunder Point and neon penguins near Middle Island.

The sculptures were created by visual artist Carla O'Brien, who has seen her work showcased as part of the 'White Night' celebrations in both Melbourne and Ballarat.

Two lucky locals also took home $100 vouchers to be spent at local businesses, as part of a competition run on each night.

“I’d like to congratulate our Events Team for coming up with such an interesting concept that allows people to have fun and explore the city while maintaining a safe social distance" said Warrnambool Mayor Tony Herbert.
