Wbool Council Looking For Sharp Replacement

Warrnambool City Council is hopeful to attract another airline service to Warrnambool following the void Sharp airlines will leave.

The Mayor says it's a very unfortunate situation because as a thriving regional city Warrnambool needs to have it's own passenger airline.

He says council has it's feelers out to see if there is any interest from any other airline across the country.

Mayor Herbert says it's been an incredibly tough week with Sharp airlines pulling out of the region and Fonterra announcing the closure of the Dennington factory.

However, he says he remains very positive as Warrnambool is a very resilient city, but no doubt there are some challenges ahead.
