The club's Stephen Kerr says it's been around 18 years since the club has collected a medal at the Australian Championships.

He says it was an outstanding effort by all the Warrnambool competitors who travelled to the Nationals at the weekend.

Stephen says the silver medal wins by Ellie Johnson and Brayden Casamento were exceptional races by the two teenage competitors.
