The Latest Figures Paint A Positive Picture For The Region

The Crime Statistics Agency has released its data for the past financial year and it paints a positive picture of the work of police in the South West

The data, which takes into account the year prior to June 30, saw a rise of 6% in the number of offenses recorded statewide compared to the previous 12 months

But in good news for the region, Deputy Commissioner Rick Nugent says both Warrnambool and Horsham record among the highest decreases by local government area

The data also revealed that 6000 offenses were recorded for COVID-19 breaches prior to June 30 with the Colac and Corangamite areas recording the highest rate of offenses per 100,000 head of population.
