WDCA Faces Must Win Match At Country Week Today

After a rain affected Country Week, the door has been left ajar for a number of teams to qualify for tomorrow's final at the Bill Lawry Oval in Northcote.

Heading into the final day of regular competition Warrnambool and District sit in third place on the ladder, following an indifferent week.

The side enjoyed a 181 run victory over Warragul and District on Monday, before rain washed out their second match against Shepparton on Tuesday.

Thankfully they were able to take the field among wet conditions yesterday that saw a majority of matches canceled, with a 30 over a side match seeing Warrnambool fall to Latrobe Valley by 7 wickets.

They will head into today's matchup against ladder leaders Bairnsdale with more time at the crease than any other side, with victory today to all but secure them a place in tomorrow's decider.

Brierly Christ Church batsmen Mark Murphy has led the way for Warrnambool so far, scoring a pair of 60s to lead the division two run scorers list.
