Among the many names to take the track this weekend, will be an array of former winners including Kerry Madsen, Jamie Veal, James McFadden, Steven Lyons and Brooke Tatnell.

Premier Speedway General Manager David Mills, says the sport has remained as strong as ever.

"Probably to the uninitiated it's just something that happens out here on a Saturday night once in a while, but the sport of sprintcar racing is huge now" Mills said.

"We have a number of local drivers that compete regularly in America during our winter, vice-versa the Americans come back out"

"This weekend headlined of course by Kyle Larsen who races NASCAR in America, is one of the absolute talents behind a steering wheel of anything he gets in, so exciting to have the likes of Kyle recognise the event as worthy to come and visit".

Qualifying gets underway this evening, with the ever popular fan appreciation day to steal the show tomorrow morning.
