Charges Laid Regarding Thefts From Building Sites

Warrnambool Police have charged two people, following a spate of burglaries from building sites in the wider Warrnambool area.

Senior Sergeant Shane Keogh, says community information helped lead to a pair of arrests over the weekend.

"Over the last couple of months we've been asking our community for assistance in regards to a lot of burglaries on building sites" he said.

"Pleased to announce that in the early hours of Saturday morning as a result of information received, Police have checked a car at a building site in Warrnambool and it had some stolen building materials in it"

"A short time later a 29 year old female from Mortlake and 30 year old male from Melbourne were taken into custody and charged with a number of offences including burglary, theft and trafficking drugs of dependence"

"The male also received a charge in relation to breaching the chief health officers directions by leaving Melbourne, and both have been remanded in custody, so thanks to the community"
