Man pulled to safety at Warrnambool breakwater
Emergency services were called to the Warrnambool breakwater yesterday afternoon around 2.15 after receiving an alert that a boat had capsized.
Witnesses say a boat had tipped over just south of the breakwater but nearby boats came to the rescue and pulled the fisherman to safety.
C.F.A., S.E.S, Police, and Ambulance rushed to the breakwater but were not required.
It's believed the anchor rope had become caught in the boats propellor causing the boat to capsize.
The boat was towed back to the shore and has minimal damage.
Emergency services say it was a good outcome with local fisherman praised for acting so quickly and coming to the man's rescue.
